Tris, in Spanish, means something done in an instant. It is a precise concept to define the three texts by Marina Rodríguez Brià, both in terms of their duration and the way in which they were conceived. It must have been around 1983 when we played a game: I would propose a word or a short phrase to her and she would instantly write a short poem. It was a fleeting creation, an almost automatic embodiment of a visual image.
These poems were unanimously awarded by the jury formed by the prestigious writers Joan Brossa, Joaquim Carbó, Jaume Torrent and Fina Dalmau in the 9th Competition of poems and short stories of the Barcelona City Council, April 1989.
From this fun game, from which emerged several texts that are proof of a her great poetic intuition, I chose three poems that immediately suggested musical colors to me and that maintain a unity.
