Marina Rodríguez Brià

Pianist, researcher and musical communicator. She writes articles and poetry and has been the curator of several exhibitions. She has a degree in French Philology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a higher degree in Music from the Barcelona Municipal Superior Conservatory of Music. She has furthered her studies in different international courses and has won several prizes in piano, chamber music and poetry competitions. She is a member of the Catalan Society of Musicology and a founding member of the Muzio Clementi Association of Barcelona.

She writes various texts, some of which have been part of the contents of exhibitions on musical themes or CD booklets, among other publications. She has created the script and the poetic-musical recital Le Vaisseau-piano ou la Reine des Fictions with French poetry in French and music for piano. She has a collection of poems entitled Soc una projecció pòstuma (Ultramarina Creations, 2018). She has also created the musical tale L’habitació de les joguines and the children's concert Girasons commissioned by the Auditori Educational Service with international tours, around two hundred performances at the Barcelona Auditori and selected by the International Teatralia Festival. She directed the recording of the CD book.

She is the creator of the script for several piano recitals with commentary on specific themes and author of the book for piano students Pianòries (Editorial Dinsic, Barcelona, ​​2002).

She is the author of scientific and popular articles related to pianos, composers and pianists. She also recovers Catalan writers and artists of the 20th century. She writes for specialized publications such as the Revista Catalana de Musicologia, The Keats-Shelley Review (Routledge. Taylor & Francis Group), Harpsichord & Fortepiano (Peacock Press), Revista Musical Catalana or Visites temàtiques al Centre d’interpretació del romanticisme Manuel de Cabanyes. The series of poems with own illustrations "Desde un fondo cualquiera" has been published in Crisopeya. Magazine of Art and Literature (2023). Together with Joan Josep Gutiérrez, he has written the biography of Muzio Clementi published by the publishing house Arpegio (2025).

Among others, she has been the curator of three exhibitions related to the world of piano: at the Casa Rocamora in Barcelona (2022), at the Museu de la Música (2020) and at the Palau de la Música as part of the Maria Canals International Piano Competition 2018.

As a pianist, he has performed in venues such as Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, The Sage in Gateshead, Nikolaisaal in Potsdam, Stuttgart Opera, Aalto Opera in Essen, Teatre Gran Rex in Buenos Aires, Instituto Cervantes and Fundación March in Madrid, and at international festivals in Grafenegg, Düsseldorf and Ludwigsburg, among others.

He has performed Spanish music in Europe, South America and the United States. She has recorded on numerous occasions for Ràdio Nacional, Catalunya Ràdio, Catalunya Música, TV3, Canal 33, TV1, TV2, Südwest Rundfunk, RAI and Radio France. She has released thirteen albums with works by Russian composers, romantic dances for piano duet (with J.J. Gutiérrez) or with Spanish music for solo piano. She has recorded two CDs with Clementi's music on historical fortepianos. She is a pianist and also a connoisseur of the fortepiano, instruments with which she makes recordings and recitals. Among the pianist's instruments is a Collard and Collard, late Clementi fortepiano from 1843 (London) that she plays in concert.

She gives lectures and recitals in various cultural institutions. At the University of Barcelona she has taught and coordinated courses. He has participated in the Musical Heritage Day organized by the UB and the CSIC (2022), in the Anglo-Catalan Society Annual Conference (2022 and 2023), in the Historical Keyboard Society of North America (2017), in the International Geelvinck Fortepiano Festival in Holland (2019) or in the Música al Claustre cycle of the IEC (2021).
