Joan Vinyoli (Barcelona, 1914 – 1984)
Vinyoli was a poet who was greatly influenced by German Romanticism, post-symbolism and, especially, R. M. Rilke.
Albada is part of the collection De vida i somni (1948), a collection in which the poet makes an introspective reflection in communion between the poetic Self and Nature, a nature that far from being seen positively, is incapable of distancing him from his inner suffering: "I am still like a cold hollow where a permanent suffering swells!"
This song was commissioned by the pianist Mònica Pons to make a gift for a friend of her.
