Sara Carmona
Sara Carmona is a soprano, originally from Badajoz. She began her piano studies with her grandfather and graduated from the Professional Degree at the Juan Vazquez Conservatory in her city. In 2019 she completed her Higher Degree in Singing at the “Bonifacio Gil” Superior Conservatory of Badajoz with professor Sara Garvín. She trained in Brussels with countertenor Xavier Sabata for the following two years and in 2023 she completed the Master in Lied “Victòria dels Àngels” at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) with professors Francisco Poyato, Josep Surinyac and Assumpta Mateu. She is currently completing the Master in Cultural Management and Production at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). From 2017 to 2019 she completed her singing studies with the training in Performing Arts at the SKENE School in Badajoz. In 2021, she performed as an actress singing the character of Jocasta from Antigone at the OFF Festival at the Temple of Diana in Mérida. As a performer and vocal coach, she performed the SIRENS project in Brussels on several occasions with the artists Younes Ali and Aude Tournaye with the final exhibitions at the Musée d’art contemporain CENTRALE and KANAL - Centre Pompidou in Brussels in 2022 and 2023.
She has been awarded scholarships for numerous Masterclasses by great performers such as Sarah Connolly, Wolfram Rieger, Anna Bonitatibus, Irene Theorin, Sabina Puértolas, Felicity Lott, Simon Lepper, Stephane Degout, among others.
As a soloist, he made his debut with an orchestra in 2019 at the Palau de Congressos “Manuel Rojas” within the Badajoz Contemporary Music Festival, Mozart's Requiem at the Église Madeleine in Paris with the Hélios Orchestra in February and May 2023.
He has performed recitals with different chamber ensembles and performers such as Francisco López, Flautist, Quimey Urquiaga, pianist, Ester Lecha, pianist, Mireia Tarragó, soprano, Leyre d'Urtiburo, pianist, Akira Barrios, oboist, among others, in various halls in Spain, France and Belgium MEIAC) of Badajoz, Fulls d'Àlbum per la Societat Filharmònica de Badajoz, “A Viva Veu” of Badajoz, Ateneu Barcelonès, Goethe Institut de Barcelona, “Tast de Lied” Fundació Victòria dels Àngels de Barcelona, Dimarts toca ESMUC and in the modernist Sant Pau, Sons de Ciutat with Simon Maisano November'24 and February'25, Barcelona, La veu humana, Espai Turina, Sevilla with Julius Drake, Mercedes Gancedo and under the stage direction of Marc Busquets in February'25.
In terms of recording material, in March 2024 she made her first CD recording with pianist Ester Lecha, of the premiere of the songs for voice and piano by composer Joan Josep Gutierrez.
As a piano, musical awareness and singing teacher, she has worked at “Noves iniciatives musicals” in Badajoz from 2014-2019, as a private teacher in Brussels, Belgium, at “Casa Sors” from February 2022 until August 2024.
